Would you take a moment out of your life
To bring a little something to another
Who can not make it on their own
The gift of a child denied them

Would you take the time out of your schedule
To the countless appointments
And to the surgery of the baby
To which to impregnate

Would you take the pains
As your belly grows to know the child within
Wont be yours to hold
Wont be there to you to watch it grow

Would you take the dangers
A unborn child takes it's toll
Your body forever scared
Your mind ever changing with the new life

Would you go through a mother's pain
To feel your baby grow
And know that it will be dead to you when born
This was the promise you made

Would you go through it
Despite your change of mind
Dispute the fear and the instinct to protect
Go through the pains of labor and deliver this child

Would you cry when you are not allowed to even see
Doctors take the child to the next room over
And a mother awaits to hold the child you grew
And you are left with the scars

Would you regret it all
When you see children on the playground
Wonder if that little girl was once within your womb
Wonder if the boy with the scab was your little son

Would you walk away
Never look back
Know you did a good thing
Know you gave life to those who where barren

I would
I know the pain and truth of it
Still I would give to another what they do not have
I would give my baby to them

But I would cry to
But that does not change my mind
Life is to precious to be stingy
Give life means to live life
