Frightened.

Going to be a mother soon.
I'm always thinking.
I can't do this, but I'm not alone.
If you look in my eyes you can see I'm scared.
I went through so much when I was younger.
Will I put my little one through the same thing?
I'm so frightened that I can't sleep well.
Yet so attached all ready.
June 16 is when the baby's due.
Gives me time to get used to it.
I look at my round tummy and smile.
Look at the sky.
"Mommy, you're going to be a grandma soon."
She won't be here to help, but her spirit will watch.
Frightened so badly, but love the little one growing in my womb.

Please tell me what you think

  • First, I am sorry about your mom. Second, so you are a new mom, about two months now...how great, and how tiring I bet! But you'll be fine, thought I'm sure many sleepless night lie ahead. But a lovely poem!

  • This is such a beautiful poem...I am sure you will make a great mother to your little one and just you know your mother will always watch over you and the little one.My young sister had a baby at 18 too and my niece Chloe is now 6 months lol time just flies...God Bless You...Hazel
