You, my Sister
You and I off to Hawaii
What an adventure
Especially that day in the Sun
when we struggled with the kyack
dropped it down in Kealakekua Bay
and went our way.
Bright yellow, riding high
above the water line
you in the lead
as always
Huge rolling waves
and the miracle
of buoyancy
speeding along so fast
water so clear
the drop off
striking a line between
sandy bottom and bottomless sea
You, my Sister
You and I
journey off to the coral reef
where we didn't even need our masks to see
brilliant turquoise waters filled with
fish so brilliant and wild
mortal imagination could not conjure
Basking on the rocks
under the shadow of Cook's monument
we are reminded that our greatest loss
is our greatest gift:
we are not immortal.
We live for this precious moment
in the Sun
Together

... and just as fast as the moments like these fly by, perhaps never to return, the setting sun to the west reminds us that this day only leads into another one, always.

Very Pretty
I liked it! Peaceful with a tone of sadness almost as if you were sad to let such a moment pass and had to capture it.

Wow
That was fast! Thank you so much for responding so quickly. It was just hot off the press. Yes, It is sad that we had that beautiful time together, and it is gone. Exactly, by capturing it, it helps to both hold it and let it go at the same time!
