Horse & Rider

Galloping at the speed of light
Fast traveling steadily through the night.

Pounding hooves like a drum
Heartbeat rate reaches quite a sum.

Foggy curtain smothers the warm air,
Don’t know where I’m going, can’t see anywhere.

Sweat trickles quickly down my sides,
Rider urges me on with no abide.

Lights ahead, we’re almost there,
Horse slows down, a challenge, a dare.

Rider kicks like mad, I’m oblivious to his ferocious cuss.
I spot our destination ahead; I don’t put up quite a fuss.

The old beast pricks his ears, eyes locked on a mass of broken branches;
I steer him away with much advantage.

I sense his panic, his nervousness,
He senses my powerful fearlessness.

Our emotions work in an amazing sensation
As we pull ourselves together and cross the line.

To Rider’s pleasure,
To my haughty care

We won the race of teamwork,
Fair and square.

very good job! The switching of the point of views confused me at first, but eventually I caught on... that's pretty cool
