I.
from within I see her
a face at the window
falling into
the gender eclipse
i am not one,
but both.
soon you will see this.
II.
what becomes of lace
the ice and the ribbons
melt/shrivel
into decadence
i will not be like stone
that has grown cold.
i will be untamed fire.
III.
if water could know
what her wind was thinking
surely she would
abandon the current
and seek refuge within
past present future
time is no matter
but matter is time.
IV.
if the sky were to change
from Dusk to Dawn,
from masculine bloodshed
to feminine warmth
would I remain simple?
asleep at the hearth
embers gone cold
nurtured by Hestia
but by Hephaestus' hold
V.
can you see sister anima
lying in wait
for the hour of revelation
to complicate.
Author notes
This came together on the spot, really... actually I have given some thought to this in the past, especially Jung's idea of the person being anima/animus (female/male) in one body... it fascinates me in a sense.
Hope it's enjoyed.

Most enjoyqble and yes we do have male and female hormones which create a balance. Congrats on the bronze.

Thank you! The question for me is not if the hormones do exist, but if we acknowledge their presence.

Ok, my favourite stanza, (or half) is
IV.
if the sky were to change
from Dusk to Dawn,
from masculine bloodshed
to feminine warmth
It's great, it kind of embodies everything I wanted in this poem. From light to dark, night to day...
yadayada...(Yeah, I know...)
Cannot believe you're 15 and talking about Jung. Insane.
I like how instead of adopting the idea of being one gender, the opposite- you've made it into being both, or genderless...either/neither...
Also love these lines...
time is no matter
but matter is time.
So true...so interesting!
Yes, it was enjoyed, thank you for your entry...

Thanks! Yeah, I got interested in Jung early
I find a lot of his theories make sense. I'm a voracious reader, and listen to quite a bit of (quality) music, and, well... the whole creative subconscious thing is, as a writer, something completely applicable.
The way I see it is, you can be anima or animus, just one, but to incorporate more masculine or feminine (depending on who you are) traits, from the other gender, one grows more.
Thanks again for your wonderful comments!
