In the Calm of Deepest Night
Weeping Willow whispers softly in the wind
Gently, Luna turns her face-
to rest upon the silver pool that lies at Willow's feet
Willow sees and weeps no more
-though none will see her smile
For with First Light, she weeps again
-the loss of her dear friend

Awww such a lovely nature poem, I do love the moon and lots of things to do with it.

I love this! The capitalization brings life to your poem. Willows are my favorite tree. I love how you use "Luna" instead of dulling it down to the moon. by using the spanish name and giving her a face you manage to bring the moon to life. I'm not sure if you meant there to be a circle of comfort and loss but i definitely see it anyway. the alliteration is great too "weeping willow whispers softly in the wind" great poem!

I did mean it that way, a circle of comfort and loss. I'm glad you noticed, and I'm glad you enjoyed my poem. Thanks for the comment.

I liked the alliteration you included in this poem. Many people do this unconsciously, but you pulled it off perfectly. This piece was short, but so well written. The imagery captures the reader and brings them into the willows world, and it makes the reader feel like they are right in there with it. I love the fact that you brought personality to the tree, and not just personification. Great job.

Truly a beauty here! I love the gentle scenes this gives the reader! What a great job you did on this one!

I read this before you entered it, and I still enjoy the beautiful image. Thank you for entering.
