What hides the moon
in darkness,
always held away?
Are Maria there a secret
for
only Mars and Venus know?
The yin and yang of Tycho
and the Sea of Tranquility
are fine for us to see,
proudly displayed
to our wondering eyes.
But, what is held
in secret
that we must
never know?
Why will she
only share
half of her,
and then only
parts of that half
are lit
most of the time.
Is she afraid to
turn her back?
Why does she
labor so...
I really want
to know.
