Looking back over the years gone by,
wondering, did I even thank you?
The love and support always given,
two keys that helped to see me through.
The love you gave was extra special
and in my heart I'll always treasure.
It was filled with such deep devotion,
every memory is a pleasure.
It's the gift of life you gave to me,
always helping in so many ways.
Inspiring in me confidence,
something I needed from day to day.
It was you that taught me how to laugh
and explained why I needed to cry.
All these reasons because of you mom,
I now know right from wrong and why.
You always stood with me side by side,
through all the laughter and the tears.
The special bond that you and I shared,
was one that lasts throughout the years.
Mom it was you that made the difference,
shaping my life just how it should be.
I could never say thank you enough,
you're the best thing that happened to me.

This is such a beautiful poem and most deserving of a trophy. Your mother must have been a wonderful person to inspire such words of thanksgiving. It is often said that the mother/daughter relationship is the most fraught with peril, but I believe it is one of the strongest bonds on earth. You each received something from the love you shared. Peace, Liz

This is a really great poem. I can sence just how much your mother means to you the the words are explaining that...I can feel the emotion behind it. It's too often that we go on through our lives forgetting to thank the main people that got us to where we are, and knowing what we know. I'm very close to my mother, and she has been the only one that I could truely count on in my life....Great poem, continue with your great work.
