Tomorrow is unknown and yesterday has gone
So she stands insecure as the eulogy is read
With no comfort zone she feels the pressure build
A xenophobe but who would kill him? Though now he’s dead
How did it happen? The police said it was at midnight
So he was on night guard duty when it was done
Was it on a whim or the asperity of the moment?
Did he vex a gang using force or was there only one?
There was only her and her father left, now she’s alone
He was the quintessential part of her life, but he has gone
Wiping her tears away from behind the opaque veil
She lays a red rose on the coffin and walks slowly on
By the grave side she stands broken, under a cloud
To what degree will justice and law prevail?
So the scar on her heart need no longer bleed
And the perpetrators of the crime will rot in jail

Stirring words...
And sadly, a common occurance in today's world...
Strong narrative & flowing rhyme scheme that made for a compelling read...
Well done!!!

Thanks for you comments Fritz. My first time at doing a word bank on it's own. I rather enjoyed the challenge.
