[ After years of maturity ]

After years of maturity
I took wearied steps towards the room,
To unlock that door.
The door that has been locked
Since-since I don’t remember when
Probably when I first went out with friends
Live friends who replaced them,
Those inanimate objects
Which now lie scattered in the room.
Where the blue paint is flaking off.
The dust seems to have settled
-Settled forever on the carpet.
The ball lies in the corner, deflated.
Cobwebs have covered their faces
All these remind me
Of the time that has elapsed
But they still welcome me.
Those frizzy golden hairs still shine
The smell of rubber is still in the air
Those lifeless plastic blue eyes still gleam
As they all stare at me
I step forward
To restore the old bond
To reacquire the naivety,
The innocence lost
I try to restore it through them.

Oh I do love the thought process in this. I think so many of us can relate a time in our lives when we need to go back to those innocent days, just to try and get that perspective back of what life is truly about.
Love your imagery in this. It really caught my attention.
Best wishes to you in the contest.
