Insight

An insight is sufficient for the day,
the source is endless, always giving more.
No worry that the gift will pass away,
an insight is sufficient.

We witness many things we would deplore,
see actions opposite to what they say,
and wish to pacify a world at war.

What counts is only you and me, today.
If we can settle or reduce the score,
the whole is better; and you know we may,
an insight is sufficient.

Expressed in such a simple, concise way. Well done!

When I saw your name, I knew it would a good write. This sort of thing is right up your alley.

Thank you Judy - sometimes a form speaks to my muse and they hatch something together which I wanted to say for a while. I'm glad you like this.
      Merry Christmas!

Oh, I think I have you to thank for introducing me to this form, once again, as I first saw it ín your Normandy poem, if I am not mistaken. Well done! Hold tight to that insight. Happy Holidays.

Thank you Marcy, best wishes of the season to you.
In Normandy is a rondeau, also with a refrain from the first line, but with 15 lines. The refrain adds a contemplative echo, there is a family of similar forms.

This will be difficult to judge. I'd never been aware of Roundels before I read Testament of Youth, and now here they are, on all subjects and neat as can be. Thanks very much, I like this.

This is wonderful! I have never written in this form before and I confused it with a Rondel. This is truly a perfect example and well thought out.

    Love,
