Unnoticed Actualities

I could actually love you
But you won't allow it
You swear you can better show me how you feel
When I try to talk to you about it

When I'm alone with you
It seems as if I'm the only one that matters
But when we're apart I know you're with her
And my whole earth falls and shatters

I could actually be your entire package
But you refuse to unwrap me
You've admitted to that statement yourself
Yet you still will not have me

Our entire relationship is complex
Based on unnoticed actualities
Please open your eyes to notice them soon
So they can become widely renowned realities

Author notes

This may be hard for some people to understand but its about my best friend and a guy she's seing who likes her but has a girlfriend. He says she's smart funny and beautiful ie the whole package for him. But he hasn't made any effort to tell her where she stands (which is nowhere) in his life. I'm just looking at things from her perspective. She'll try to express her feelings through words, he'll shut her down with the old "Actions speak louder..." line. She doesn't know how to let go and I can't get her to see how uncomplex her life would be if she did!
Its hard being a best friend sometimes!

    I totally agree with what you said in your notes.
    Being a best friend is a wonderful thing but like all relationships, it has its ups and downs. It's a terrible feeling to love someone so much and find that there is nothing in their heart for you. I hope that your friend finds a way to get through this. It's great to know that you care that much about her. Take care my friend and thanks for sharing your story here!
