'Tis the season of silver bells,
mistletoe, ice and snow;
but something's awry -
for the joy is gone from Hollie.
Oh, Hollie, dear - I wish you'd hear
the pleas, the cries, the prayers
made on your behalf...holly is so
important to this Christmas season,
And so are you, dear one.
That's why they named you Hollie,
your birth being in December.
You were born in the dark,
The darkest time of year;
you find yourself lost in the dark,
alone and plagued by self-doubt,
anxiety, and demons.
But hark! Hear the cry:
"Prepare the way for the Lord!"
Your dawn is coming, Hollie -
you, you are Jerusalem.
The Lord your light is coming,
bringing you relief from your
sorrow and pain, to which I
easily relate, having the same past.
Oh, Hollie! I can't make you jolly
or glad; the peace you seek comes
from above and lies within you.
I pray for this to come swiftly, soon.
My Christmas prayer is that you will
still be there when I come back from
taking care of my sister and her family,
when the holidays are over this year.
May a new year bring you peace, hope,
and joy - a Love envelope you like
the morning fog that you are so used to -
For your soul and well-being, child blue.

I bet Hollie will absolutely love this piece. It's comforting and beautiful. Hollie is amazing, but she has to believe it. I think this is perfect.

I have a step-sister who was born on December 25th and was named Holly Day. I also have a sister-in-law born on Christmas day, a sister born on the 17th, and 6 nephews all born this month.
The Hollie in this poem sounds like a sad soul. I wish her peace and light for the holiday. Thank you for entering my contest.
