The room closes around me, a gentle darkness moves in
Magnificently you walk in the doorway catching my stare
You cross the room arrogantly, a little bounce in your stride
A faraway look and a half made smile,
I look away from you but keep you in my range
You button that red coat...the sign of a scarred man
My knees give out as I try to catch my last trace of dignity
Our first day in meeting and I'm already throwing up my guards
You sense the tension but you don't approach me
I turn away hoping you don't realize my red face
You smile as I stumble over what to say...
A whirlwind of people move around us
But your moving in slow motion
I see...
Ice blue eyes
Soft pink lips
Calloused hands
A dazed expression
...
MY enemy
...
They told me who you were, they told me what not to say
I cross in front of you, ignoring the stare
Telling myself I'm thinking this through all wrong
You move around me day after day
Keeping your distance but closing in on me
I push myself away but pull you closer
I stumble...
Knowing what's coming next
A feeling all too familiar
Our first day in meeting and already...
...
I know what you'll be
...
My downfall

Wow, this is brilliant. I love how you wrote the first stanza. That was just completely mind blowing and everything about this piece was just wow. Thank you for entering & welcome to the finalists. (:
