1x1 went out for a run, came in first, he’s still number 1
2x2 could not do any more, doubled her up, and made her 4
3x3 takes quite a shine, rub him up, and he is a 9
4x4 why look at her preen, put on a crown, she turned 16
5x5 swam down on a dive, stayed right there, ‘til he was 25
6x6 picked up some sticks, counting them out, he had 36
7x7 felt quite fine, went for a walk, at the age of 49
8x8 looked young ever more, had to tell everyone, he was 64
9x9 sure has a lot of fun, no one would guess, that he’s 81
Author notes
A contest good for the children, and good for the soul. Forgot to exclude 8x8 Scott, sorry. I am not as smart as a child anymore, lol.

Not as smart as a child anymore huh? Hey, when you're on a roll, you're on a roll, don't stop for eight or you'll be late.
Nicely done and best of luck...Scott

This is delightful B, made me smile from start to finish, if only learning our tables had been as much fun.
