Cradles

In a mother’s heart
love so sways in such care,
holding the gift of life
as none could ever compare.

And unto a poetic land
you have come to grace us
in the light of your soul.

Waiting for the precious day
when the life within you cradle in your arms,
sharing all the beauty and joy
by the verses you shall write.

So we pause to say a special welcome
to a poet and mother to be,
how we’ll celebrate you happiness
rejoice as the blessings abound,
may the days bring you all the dreams,
quietly warming with their own sun
until all you have as memories
has a gold precious to your mind.

Then residing in the place
where only parents know
at peace in your new world
along with the one
who fills your moments
with all the smiles you could ever want.

Author notes

Hoping all the days that come are filled
with what completes your life.
