Blue Note Symphony

The swinging wail of sadness,
of longing in the soul,
arpeggios like madness
from a heart that's lost control,
the sweet despair desire brings
within it's plaintive calls,
a piercing second Cupid sings,
a stem with two blue balls.

The bluebird in the willow tree,
the blackbird on the wire,
the saxophone in 5/4 time,
all screaming out desire.
Augmented notes of pining's pain,
exquisite agony,
the joys of loving near insane,
