Bubbles, bubbles little baby
blowing troubles,
I think you and I
are in for a life time of loving.
Late night feeding, poo nappies
we both had each other crying
because we couldn't get the other
to close their eyes and go to sleep.
As you grew, my womb
made necessary changes,
elastica extensions were added
to accommodate my creation.
Your daily, weekly, monthly growth,
was making me grow
well out of my normal proportion.
Your breakfasts, lunches
and the big dinners too,
were served to you on demand
when you tapped on me from inside
Sometimes I would spoil you
with a piece of chocolate cake,
the only tips I ever got from you
was heartburn and your hiccups.
I was your portable taxi
for a straight nine months,
day or night you came with me
where ever I cared to travel.
We soon become regulars
at our favorite watering hole,
good thing for both of us,
there was never a long queue
I am proud of you as you spent
your first nine months of life
in solitary confinement,
weill mostly for good behaviour,
but for those hard kick or two.
I received orders from above
that I am to do
all your hard labour.
I did the long hard labour,
with loud cries and in wailing pain.
If you only you could have seen me
performing your first birth Debut,
you would have been so proud of me.
I am sure you shared in it too.
The audience applauded us with
"Push!!! PUSH!!!!. its head is here."
Now I have a little of reflection
of myself staring back at me.
Time has come for you and I
to take our life time of vacations.
Holidays of teething, feeding,
rashes, grazes, coughs, hurt knees,
school detentions, boyfriends, girlfriends
driving lessons and maybe a marriage.
You are my God’s given gift
You are a blessing I will keep
You are part of my destiny, so stay.
You are my heart that walks outside of me.
