memories come alive of a bubbly little girl.
Now a woman who goes after her dream without coaching,
she must know this mother wished to give her the world.
I believe the sky this day will still be bright,
a missed grandpop who shines down on you with warm hues.
no coincidence you are "sunshine" you beam of his light,
you will walk in success after everything that came against you.
He sees you as a twinkling in His eye,
that is why you are a "Star" all the time.
Your friendly disposition would bless my day and night,
being outgoing, you mean a lot, stay kind.
Adventurous ambitions once had you run off and disappear,
I looked for you seeing a calm little girl on soneone's swing.
You may be independent but I wish for you to be near,
remembering the nights you sang to others and just loved to sing.
You also encourage others to see themselves,
I know you struggled in school and about life.
Often feeling your goals are put on shelves,
He has been there daughter taking away strife.
Just like He showed me your leadership gift,
how you are that teacher that children tend to surround.
You must know He's not finished, so much to sift,
we suffered to gain more blessings, that will come around.
The vision he gave me of your alpha omega club reign,
had me see your beginning and what could be a glorious end.
It came to pass and there is so much more to gain,
I know the power of prayer that I would ferverently send.
Now you are brought to victory graduate star,
it was almost stolen from you, He didn't let it.
Remember to thank Him for bringing you so far,
I know I do, and wait and see, not doubting one bit.
That you will accept this life and become humble,
that you will become all you intend to be.
There are setbacks to give strength and you will stumble,
as I know you will get right back up and succeed.
Look around and remember who will always be there,
you opened up to a blossomed flower from a seed.
Your mother cherishes you first born, who loves you and cares,
He too longs for you to keep Him in your heart,He sees your need.
When you turn the tassle and throw up the hat,
shine "star" shine, you deserve the moment now.
My emotions stirring, tears of joy and a thumbs up back,
while I look forward to a future you will have some how.
Author notes
My first born daughter nick named Sunshine and Star, graduated in 2004 and school for her had been challenging from failing reading in first grade to tutoring, and wanting to be a social butterfly, she was popular, my shininng moment was in her senior year when she was president of a Christian club at school, and of course finally graduating...I shared to inspire some kind of words for you to refect on...Blessings to you and look forward to it...My son graduated in 2008 and I realized I didn't have a write for him and will be working on one, his was interesting, it rained and a butterfly formed in the clouds, and he was one of those kids that wasn't going to walk just wanted the diploma, so that is why I didn't realize I should write one about him too. My last son will graduate 2011 and he just made principals list for the marking period which he too is private...she is definately different type of butterfly...spreads her wings. LOL.

Beautiful. The author notes made this poem stronger. I am as your daughter. After my great grandmother passed away, the world shifted. I was private until that day and afterwards, I began to shine. I've tried to excel in so many ways, mostly to make her proud in heaven. Thanks so much for your entry & Goodluck in my contest
