old popcorn tin actually.
Inside are memories that have
sat closed up for years.
Inside are the final moments
of your life.
Inside are the precious things
that remind me of you, Dad.
Your Husker sunglasses and your
favorite shirt.
I open the tin and the aroma that
spills out is of your cologne.
In this old popcorn tin,
lies the last moments of you.
Inside are the irreplaceable memories
of you.
Author notes
My words for this would be old, tin, popcorn, irreplaceable, memories, dad, precious, cologne, sunglasses, shirt. This is seriously an old popcorn tin filled with pictures, his fave shirt and half a bottle of his cologne. It has the guest book, flowers and cards from his funeral are all in there. So it is my Tin of Memories.
