Love unrequited.
21 Guns sending salutations.
Rifles raised, fired but silenced.

A pounding drum percussive then quieted.
The heartbeat rhythmic.
Marching in the footsteps
of getting it off your chest;
Love at first sight.

Eyes bigger than your belly.
A glutton.
A want monger in need of sustenance
to stave of the hunger.

A winter picnic with an empty basket.

The consequences of this confession
are inconvenient
and lacking snacks but not concessions.

    I like the way how you solidly weaved it together. It definitely puts me into the mind frame there. Really mind blowing just in those three lines. They work so well together.

      Thank you. I haven't added anything, up until recently, for a long time. So there will be more posted; although, I don't know when. I have lots and it would take some time to organize. But by the power of Greyskull it will be done!
