There is a story of once upon a time
that cannnot be rewritten.
I close my eyes and your face appears
in the midst of the darkness.
Was it really all that hard to love you?
you waltzed into my life
and from that first moment,
my heart was solely yours.
my existence found its meaning.
Our thoughts meshed so well
as we talked for hours.
the warmth of our fingers brushing
as they slowly make their way
to filling the space between.
My eyes flutter open to find
that my imagination brought you back.
I bring your hand to my lips
and gently kiss it to make sure you're real.
we lie and just breathe to capture this feeling.
And we slowly fall asleep to the rhythm of our rising chests.

Yes! Somebody picked a Shakespeare quote! I'd given up hope :]
You've written the perfect love story, and for that reason - among many others - it's a beautiful poem.
It has a rhythm and a beat that make it infinitely readable.
I particularly like the line "that my imagination has brought you back," it changes the direction of the poem and it's very emotive.
