voices screaming for silence
footsteps circling around stillness
eyes protesting sleep
we are ready to start the end
muscles numb of movement,
lift up our swelling heads
can our eyes believe in beauty
without color?
without dimension?
can our eyes see past
predominating shadows?
pestering details?
voices whispering for input
footsteps absent on carpeted floor
eyes slip coldly into sleep
failing is a success
