Take care when you're breaking that glass
Don't indulge in behaviour that's crass
For who'll stop your bleeding
When comfort you're needing
From all of the people that pass?
They'll probably leave you for dead,
Or pass with a shake of their head
And your terrible screams
Will not trouble their dreams
And very few tears will be shed.
For pain is a personal thing
And death has a personal sting
As the crimson pool grows
Will they help you? Who knows?
Choose life: it is really the King.

I can only understand this impulse within the context of debilitating disease. I, too, am contemptuous of suicide - when there are so many who would like to live. This is a good straight forward stab at that.

As Judy says, a playful tone, but serious content. It would certainly give me cause to think again if I was ever inclined to do something as irreversible as that.
Very well done (and in limericks, yet!).

The word bank on which this is based seemed to be leaning towards self harm and mutilation - unless I misread it. Anyway, I think that suicide and self harm are basically selfish acts. That's not to say that I don't understand the misery which drives some people towards them, but there's a slightly disturbing theme to a lot of the poetry on here which seems to glorify such behaviour. I think we're better off to stick with the life we've got and try to treat others with respect. Not always easy, but worth striving towards.

I've also heard that hospital workers are rather disgusted with attempted suicides. Of course, they help but their attituded is sometimes one of contempt.
I am in no hurry to find out and decided long ago suicide didn't interest me. It's pretty hard on other people. I do hate to think that people would walk by the would be suicide. Surely, it's never too much trouble to call 911.
Anyway, I like the playful tone of this write.
