Tethered Love

We've lasted this long why not longer?
Time can fly or stand still.
I listen for reason and I think I hear it.
You support my insanity with your love.
I stay on the ledge looking down tethered to that love, It pulls me to you and life.
I'm thankful for that.
Always it's windy where I am. The sound of rushing screams that run past me.
I'm not scared though, I'm used to it.
Out of it I create beauty.
Through the wind I'm tied to you.
I won't blow away just linger before or after you, and pause to reflect at difficult times or happy times,
And remember your my base, my home, my love.

    i enjoyed reading your poem it flowed very well i can relate to your poem i can tell you love this person very much which again that is something that i to can relate to this was a great piece to read keep writing such wonderful poems

    I love this. "you support my insanity with your love" thats such a simple and powerful statement, that seems to be a theme in this poem and I absolutely love how you really make it work. It's very nicely written. Great job

    This was beautiful to read. The image to the left caught me and I started to believe it was about butterfly's taking a mate, you know, Eternal Animal Love, Penguins mating for life. Then I realised it's for people and this isn't an Animal Poetry Site... anyway, I'll come back from my thought wonder. This was a very lovely poem and I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing.

    I totaly love this write. I'm recently married, and my husband is my strong place. I'm a very busy person and are always busy being a public figure I love the steady home base. He keeps me grounded!! Thank you so much for this write!!

    I am not exactly sure that a love where you have to refer to it as tethered is really that good, but that is just an opinion. Overall, I liked this poem. The theme was sweet, and anyone should be honored to have a poem like this written for them. This was soft, straight to the point and eases the mind. Great job.
