You can easily waste an existance,
Breaking down a lie.
Solving life's question,
"Who am I?"
Long, dark nights thinking,
Of where you truly belong.
But slowly you keep on sinking,
Turning to your favorite song.
It's answer you cannot be told,
Nor is it one you can find.
It's nothing that can be sold,
But infact something designed.
Who you truly are,
Changes as fast as time.
Don't worry, you're never to far,
From who you are inside.
We all have ones we admire,
And who'd we want to be.
It can be more than just a desire,
All you have to do is see.
Now close your eyes and concentrate.
Picture the perfect human being.
Now take your life and dedicate,
To a cause you find yourself believing.
For the question is not "Who am I?"
It is something you foresee.
Something you must imply.
The real question is, "Who do I want to be?"

This poem is so intriguing, and true the same. This poem holds more truth then all the psychologists, religious leaders, scientists, office holders and philosophers ever could tell us. Great write, written real well. This is such a mind overload! Great job,

cassie

This is true and absolutely perfect from first to last line. It's not who we are but who we want to be. And hopefully we will become that person!!! Excellent job!
