A sea of red stands before me,
Swaying in the wind.
As I begin to cross,
life begins to get dark.
I see the passion,
that is long forgotten.
I see the despair,
that has become my life.
A sea of red stands before me,
trying to drown me.
It is trying to encase me,
what is left.
Life is falling apart,
I want it to drown me.
I want it to encase me,
let me disappear.
A sea of red stands before me,
only because I let it.
I let the sea take me,
take me away.

There is a truth in your words. It sort of echoes on even after this poem is finished. We sometimes are to blame for the things that happen to us. Thank you for a truly deep poem.

Well written.
A sea of red stands before you
for you let me squeeze your heart
wringing it dry of love, passion, blood
Leaving you gasping... like a fish
lying before a sea of red
and no way to dive in

Such a sad and disheartening piece you have here. I noticed a lot of desperation within these words. Best of luck to you in the contest and thanks for sharing.

I like the way you continue to write "A Sea of red stands before me." lovely writ, sad and filled with sorrow.
