the voice will fade but never die.
Can't escape it if you try,
turn the eyes to look on high.
If not thank Him for your bread
you curse and blame the Father instead,
it will not change what lies ahead
for from the ground will rise the dead.
If the mark of the beast is found,
pain will break out all around;
Ugly, painful sores compound,
to the throbbing hurt you're bound.
All the rivers, the springs and sea
transform to blood, creatures can't flee;
for all of them the death will be,
even if they squirm and plea.
From the sun the fire will burn,
scorch the bodies that couldn't discern.
And even now they will not learn
to repent and not be stern.
Now everything is dark and black,
They gnaw their toungues for what they lack,
Because their pain will never slack;
They don't repent and so turn back.
Now the Euphrates, it is no more;
all that's left is just the floor.
The kings will come and nevermore
will the waters graze the shore.
The city splits, the hailstones fall.
And they still curse Him through it all.
The mountains; gone, the islands crawl,
So when you hear Him, answer the call.

This stays in, for now. I like this specific work and I have a feeling that I would like your style so if you would like to replace this work with another, go ahead, but you've got a realistic shot at medaling with this one.

I love those stanzas the most and this background is grand! Good luck in the many contests that this is in!

No, the rhyme was awkward.

I normally hate poems like this, but this is quite good! I like the Euphrates reference. Things havent been going well in that area for a while have they?

-
weird but creative dark poem even though i would have changed a few words here and there i thought it was good, thank you for entering my contest and good luck

This poem shocked me, putting it mildly. The graphic in your words, the meaning of your words. I am not a true believer but the way you put him in this poem, well, I think this is a bit too much of the dark and anger. Also, a hint, you should put this in the adult category so that children dosen't read this. Just a hint tho.
I'm not going to score this poem as I don't feel capable. -
-
Lol I'm not sure whether this is a compliment or not...but thanks anyways

Depends on how you take it ^_^

I really liked the rhyme scheme here, it didn't sound forced at all and flowed all the way through.
I don't know much about the Bible and the 'seven plagues of Revelation' but you sure have captured my imagination. Well done and all the best to you in this contest

EXCELLENT
This is brilliant work! I love this piece! Revelation is one of my favorite books because it is filled with so much mystery. Great imagery. It almost feels as if this is preparing more for what is to come. My favorite line:
If not thank Him for your bread
you curse and blame the father instead,
it will not change what lies ahead
for from the ground will rise the dead.
Excellent job! One of my absolute favorites! :-)

Fictional poems of horror don't do much because they're, well, fictional...but this, so full of truth...is very frightening. Great imagery. The last verse is so powerful, I love it

you've penned this very well -

Thank you

Lol I agree the imagery was a little frightening but again the poem was a joy to read. Your rhyming scheme here is a hard one but you pulled it off with seemingly effortless grace. Think I may be adding you as a favourite xx

excellent
you did a great job on describing the plagues... I liked the rhyming scheme, the imagery was... well, scary.. because I believe it to be true. Fortunately, I know the one who will be calling. thanks - Kevin
