Searching

Speeding down the high way
Never looking back
Looking towards the future
Never forgetting the past.

Driving to a new place
To where I do not know
Griping the steering wheel
Using it as a hand to hold

No one beside me
Nothing around but open road
My heart yearning
Searching for the unknown

The excitement
Of being on my own
Afraid that the loneliness
Will be more than I can control

Scared
for what I may find
maybe what I’m searching for
is what I left behind.

That's such an exciting and scary feeling. I suppose one will never know what they're searching for until they make an attempt to search for it. I enjoyed this read. Thanks for sharing.
