Missing Stockings

With sleigh bells ringing and his cheeks bright red
Santa thought all, were sound asleep in bed.
A quick drag and drop he would not mind
yet this good family he did not find.

To Miranda's room he went with a hop
by hamster, kitchen table, bucket and mop,
by paintings, and bows, yellow hall so bright.
He found none home on this Christmas night.

No cookies, milk, or a note, Dear Santa
just a reminder for Jim the plants to water (watta)
(and how to get in and out without alarms
for Jim's heart can't take any more of those charms).

Sooty prints through the house and by the table
back up the chimney fast as he was able.
The laptop open and a quick refresh
to find Miranda sound and in the flesh.

Treehouse, Webkinz, and Barbie he scanned
hard-driving his way across cyber-land.
On yahoo,  on google, on facebook he went
to find Miranda err his night was spent.

In Dover (by sand) and not cliffs he found
the fair sleeping child all cuddled and sound.
To Grandpa's house she had gone in a hurry
escaping Vancouver's snow in its fury.

A subtle handflick and a shout , "Engage",
his eyes twinkled, our dear Christmas mage.
Stockings in hand and gifts safe in the boot
Miranda would smile yet, with this year's loot.

An interesting twist to the classic story of Santa. Gives me an idea to pull a fast one on him this year. Nice job.
