stepping out into new
leaving traces on sands of time
I can look back
If I chose to,
but can't retrace times
I lived.
foot prints are memories
written indelible,
confined to history
of 'what is'
and 'what is not'.
year closes,
another mile stone
in our march to immortality.
celebrations find echo
bidding adieu,
welcoming new.
history repeats,
few more gadgets this year
will add spice,
to video and audio.
though we remain same
then, now and after.

Nice use of symbolism in this. It also flows very well. Thank you so much for entering my contest.
