hardened to the dull truths of life
hidden resentments fill each corner
man's dormant essence cannot breathe
sentiments are frozen by callous imperfections
hanging on with so little promise
refusing to melt for an ounce of forgiveness
restless to climb but ever cautious
wounds can't bleed when already gone
icicles keep the soul from harm
innocence bleeds when it can feel

Shivers.... this is a very good write. Your imagery has made me want to put on a sweater and I absolutely adore your last two lines. great job. Write on, poet.

under your user name, I go by that date because that's the only way I can tell when it was posted. If it's an older write that you just happened to post in December, so be it, but I'm sorry, I cannot accept anything that is newly posted, no matter how old it is. Those are the same rules I have run all my contests by, but you are more then welcome to submit something else! I just gotta keep it fair for all the people, know what I mean?
