Tasting the salt as my eyes water
An open tap of onslaught and pain
Bitter memories of what was familiar
Frozen images and shattered pictures
Dark anticipation at the end of each day
A place I have been
The journey too long
The mould has been broken for I am free
A new light is gleaming as I leave behind
All torment and guilt of loving you
The acrid taste of you on my lips
No longer lingers as I close my eyes
And I savour the delight of honey and cream
I am home at last
I shall never leave....
NEVER!
Author notes
Moving on is all I can do, so glad I did. Home is where your heart is.

theres alot of pain in your tears and also in theres
i feel for you i hope you are happy with what ever choice you make? -
Wow, a poem like this is so rare. Most people dwell on the lost love. It is so refreshing to read a poem about the freedom, and not the sadness of moving on. I think you are at home when you are at peace with yourself, and that is someplace that I never wish to leave.

Sad but beautiful
All torment and guilt of loving you
The acrid taste of you on my lips
No longer lingers as I close my eyes
And I savour the delight of honey and cream
Your words are like knives to a person who is experiencing some thing like this, in the most positive of ways. It is true that home is always where your heart lies, but do we ever truly move on from the ones that capture our hearts?
