Hearts in Solitude

As darkness falls, grey clouds draw near
The air begins to chill, sky grows dim
Flesh and blood, these creatures of carnal fear
Emerge from empty homes their lives so grim

Life without purpose, direction unclear
They wander the streets simply on a whim
Afraid to love yet still they persevere
Always waiting for that someone, for him

Denying truth, a life so insincere,
Constantly hoping for a chance so slim,
Longing for the "perfect" one to appear,
They walk alone singing their solemn hymn,

Broken hearts that yearn for true affection,
Push those away who share a connection.

You really have a cool concept going on in this piece. I love the content. I think it just needs a little polishing-- perhaps you could remove some unnecessary commas or iron out the meter?
