It's quite tonight
all the lights are off
sitting here I write
as a tear rolls off
"tonight fear overcomes me
I learned of your fate
after everything we've gone through
you'll be gone and I'll wait"
I hear a tear hit the floor
nothing seems real any more
why does fate want us to part
hasn't god taken enough from me?
"you know I love you
and I've never lied before
but this time I might
I'll be fine honey I promise."
What has it come to white lies
no more roses or daisies
the garden has wilted nothing lives
you were too young!
"honey tomorrow I have work
I'll be getting ready to make it big
they've given me my certificate
they got my position."
it's cold a darkness seeps in
death is laughing again
god has forsaken my hand
as I put down my pen
I'll fold this letter up
hopefully keep it safe
I've grabbed my lighter
the fire dances
whispering, " I hope you get this."
