The whispering wind cools my tears
As it whips through the air, forever seeking
Searching for somewhere to belong
Never finding and woefully shrieking.
Lost without you, drowning in despair
Forsaken and forgotten, crying endless tears
You're gone and I'm adrift at sea
Words of consolation fall on deaf ears.
I feel each heartbeat, but only mine
I can't feel yours, you're too far away
Two hearts joined, now ripped apart
Through eternal memories I do sway.
Like a snowflake in a terrible fist of fire
You slipped through my fingers one last time
So beautiful and perfect, gone in a moment
I try to reach you but it's too high to climb.
I know you're watching me from heaven
But I wish you didn't have to die
I miss you, I miss you so much it hurts
But I know there's one more star in the sky.
