Until Then

The day I saw your smiling face
I fell in love with your embrace,
And every tear that had fallen, faded away.

The sun shined through every mistake, and paved a way,
It broke through my hearts wall of shame,
It made me say, “ I will wait.”

Maybe you’ll hold me in your arms,
And all of my fears will go away.
Maybe you’ll be mine and I’ll be yours,
But until then, I will wait.

Til that last day comes,
When the shadows become less gray,
Until every hope has gone astray,
I will wait.

Until I see your back turn away,
Until you walk back down the road on which you came,
And the sun shines to lead the way,
I will wait.

But there will never be an end,
For this love I have has grown to a depth I don’t understand.
To say “until when”
Would be saying it never began.
