On Time Wasted

Now that I am old and gray
I cherish every precious day.
Do you regret the time you spent
on stupid things you now lament?

I don't regret good times I had
or doing things folks said were bad,
like drugs and booze, chocolate fondue,
or shooting smack or sniffing glue.

For all those sins I was lambasted
(and the rest of my life
was completely wasted.)
