I really don't want to shorten it so I am fine with being DQed.

I am glad you didn't remove it because I really wnated to read it even if it breaks the 40 words rule and it sadly does.
As for the poem, it has a sad yet calm feeling to it and I liked how your forming makes the reader pause and resume and pause again. Nicely penned and thanks for sharing.
