The Lighthouse

The storm screams.
whistling the hatred upon,
the blackened waves.
A light flickers, glimmers of hope

Stricken by the waves, she screams
tortured, battered, blistered
by the sickened ocean.
Rocks, the daggers of hatred stab.

Praying men falter, broken.
Thrown to the decks, lucidly wavering
reminiscent beings bellow cries,
as the hope for the freedom ends.

A figure alone in the storm
gazes, repelled by the sight.
As the storm claims her kill.
The freedom shattered, crushed
upon the rocks of resentment.

She stares, battered
the wind whipping her hair
across her glistening face
as she watches the freedom
crumble.

A light flickers, glimmering of hope,
standing tall, praying she falls.
Her glass eyes crack, the spark,
in her soul fails.
Never to recover from the loss,
of the storms hunger.

Author notes

Something which came to me earlier whilst sat watching my flatmate draw in our kitchen. It's a kind of story, of many meanings, the figure can be seen as multiple things, one a woman whos lover is on the ship lost to the rocks, but also represents the lighthouse.
The ship, is called Freedom. This has several meanings to some it could just be a normal ship lost during a storm, but it also represents how peoples freedom is taken.
The storm itself has a meaning within it, it is the people in this world who create un-necissary voilence and suffering which destroys peoples freedom and kills innocent lives, and with this the rocks which claim to kill with the storm are the weapons used to kill the innocent people.
I hope people can see the meanings built into this and take a moment of their time to reflect on peoples suffering.

Many thanks for listening and reading.
Seraph
