Deep Empty Reflections

I remember our travels
to the deep blue and back,
on those days when the moon reflected twice,
and the sky appeared purple and blue.
Don't you remember how they looked,
in the water as clear as crystal
on those hot summer days.
The sun was still out,
but presently disappearing
on the horizon;
and we took a dip in the air,
as it made our skin tingle and bubble,
and we watched the day turn to night,
while relaxing on the only sandy spot
on a grassy hill.
Too bad that was our last trip together;
you just had to ruin the serenity
by going deep into that black hole,
right in the middle of the lake.
I already lost my soul that way,
but at least I came back;
you were not so fortunate.

    This goes deep, written well. It really pulls you to a place of confusion and hurt. Yet still has a touch of the loving and warm feeling in the memory.
