Dan is a friend of mine
and has been for many years
Dan doesn't remember yesterday
he can tell you the name of every kid
on our junior league team from 1950
He joking laughs saying all's OK
it's just that old timers disease
We go out once every two weeks
sometimes he forgets our standing date
We have a great time reliving yesteryear
though I have to take him to his door
His wife thanks me much for showing
him a good time
I'll miss him when he's gone
should he go first, till then
It'll be me and Dan once every other week

Nice Thoughts!
Your emotion comes tyhrough very clearly in this piece. I enjoyed its sour-sweet rendition of an all too frequent malady of old age.
