Dear Santa (aka St. Nick)

Missing image
What I really want is hard to obtain..
First, most of all, give us freedom from pain.
In this crazy world, Nick, please help us stay sane!

Send us a friend when we're feeling low.
If we are lost, show us which way to go.
And..please shield the homeless when winter winds blow!

Help us to fight for what we know is right.
Keep us from fear on a dark, lonely night.
Teach us to love, Nick, with all of our might!

Maureen Halasovski - December 14, 2008

P.S.
I have some advice (for what it is worth)..
Stop global warming from heating the earth.
Make 'thinking green' something we learn at birth.

I've always thought "green" since i was born...I'm Irish!

A beautiful penned poem about honesty and love. I try to live these words of wisdom everyday in my life as I go from clinics, emergency rooms and doctor,s appointments.

No matter how I feel in life I find myself thinking more of my fellow man than I do myslef, maybe that is the secret to my longivity with these chronic illnesses, I am not focusing on myself all the time.

Loved your words, they really touched my heart Maureen and I hope that you see the world this year as you penned it here.

    Dearest Maur,

First of all, thank you so much for all your loving messages almost every day which have cheered me especially, knowing that you sent them from your own bed of pain.
They are sending Edna home on Thursday according to the present decision. The option was to send her to a hospital in Oxford which is much to far for me to visit her so she has refused to go there. We will just have to make the best of it but I can see I'll have even less time for AP or my poetry in the coming weeks as, apart from a limited amount of home help, I'll have to do everything for her.
I love your poem which is typical of you. Selfless and thinking of wider humanity in spite of your own problems.
I'm going to have something to eat now but I wish you best of luck in the voting and thanks again for your frriendship and support.
Applause, love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.)

Dear Maureen, O I like the first one to be free from pain, that would be great.
Friends are necessary to have as well and I'm happy to count you as a very dear friend.
Though we'll never meet in person in this life we will meet again as there's an unbreakable bond that has lasted through many lifetimes.
We definitely should be teaching our young right from birth to go green, that's a great idea Maureen.
My wish is for you and Mike to get better.
Love to you my dear Soul/Sister.
    Joan

A very thoughtful poem, Maureen and carries such a meaningful message.

You're right about children growing up 'thinking green' as natural as being alive.

    Good luck in the contest

These are really good wishes, starting with your own needs and expanding out to everyone in your situation and then to everyone in need. The intercessions of saints joined by the numbers who agree with this prayer make a loud call for healing and equity. Well done, Maureen, and good luck!

Perhaps if everyone stopped being selfish and we all asked for the same things < then it could happen. Oh all except the global warming Its so cold here in England a little more warming would do me just fine

It's kind of sad, no one ever supports global warming...so...

"Help the earth become green...support global warming so penguins and polar bears too can enjoy the lush green of nature...so use fossil fuels...do not re-cycle...think of the poor cold penguins and polar bears...shivering their Artic booties off!

Ima just said I was obtuse...I wonder what he means...he said I am illogical...that is a compliment right?

Merry Christmas Maureen! I hope you have a green Christmas...(in all the right ways.)
