Reflective by nature
her light from the sun
He sets and she rises
until her work’s done
The man in the moon
not what he seems
she rents him a space
where he sleeps and dreams
The tides, yes, she governs
all the waters on earth,
even those in our bodies
in the womb ‘til our birth
Lunatics rise at full moon
It seems to be
the waters of our brains
like tides, just as the sea
Reflective by nature
her light from the sun
He sets and she rises
until her work’s done

Author notes
Genesis 1:16 And Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And Elohim set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and Elohim saw that it was good.

I had to laugh in the third stanza, having been through childbirth 3 times in 3 years. I definetly agree with the sentimate. Beautiful write, and so true! I love the imagery! thankyou for entering my contest, and Good Luck!

Your take on this is so lovely, I also like the part about our brains and how often I wondered working labor and delivery if it may have affected the amniotic fluid of mothers. 1-2-3 lets all break at one time now ! and go into short fierce labor premature and otherwise! This was great.
