I can't promise you a perfect life,
I really wish I could,
You're worth much more than I can give,
But at least I'll make it good.
I promise I'll always have time for you,
For playing and cuddles galore,
And even when it's bedtime,
I'll pull you back for 'just one more'!
I know out there it's dangerous,
But mummy's here close by,
To watch over and protect you,
If things should go awry.
Tomorrow, when you wake up,
I'll still be laying here,
Ready to take you in my arms,
To once again, hold you near.
I'll take you out to see the world,
And meet the people, so,
They can see you're wonderful,
And stop to say hello.
You can smile and wave at them,
Make new friends and grow,
Without having to be scared,
Because I'm here you know.
I'll cuddle you close to me,
When you're so unsure,
And the world is seeming way too big,
That you don't want to leave the door.
I'll hold you near and comfort you,
When you're feeling down,
I'll bring you peace, (or try, at least),
To chase away that frown.
