Blind girl

A blind girl sits before a mirror,
unseeing, unfeeling, it's all she knows,
once upon a time she was beautiful
her skin seemed to glow,

But once exposed to the world
reality soon corroded her heart,
leaving a person that had no feelings,
with no passion she could no longer create beautiful art,

Everyone told her
that the things that mattered
were what you looked like and what you wore
she believed them and her life ended in tatters,

Left with dead eyes that only saw
that which she wanted and didn't yet posess,
now a blind girl sits before a mirror
in a black funeral dress,

For her life is over,
left with nothing to see
and nothing to feel,
it was her way to "deal",

A blind girl sits before a mirror
sitting upright with a sudden jolt
she sees her reflection
and wants to revolt

Reaching her hand up to
assure her self that it's not real,
she's a monster that can once again see,
and once again feel

Her judgment day has arrived
and yeah, she survived
but now all you hear are her screams and yells
coming from the fiery pits of her own hell

Nice story-telling quality to this piece. The harshness of reality and the tragedy of her life is well depicted.

Typo in third line third verse - where should be were. Also second line fourth verse - posess.

    Thanks for entering my contest!
