See a light,
it burns red with a glow.
It reflects in your eyes,
and you already know,
when the past is forgotten
it continues to grow
into something much darker,
even light cannot show.
I know of a song, it kills as it’s sung.
It tells you, “Remember, remember some more
whatever you loved,
what you once knew for sure.”
But you’ve forgotten, it’s over,
and you hate it for days.
The song doesn’t care,
It laughs while it plays.
The eyes that watch you,
they all shine green,
burning with envy,
poisoned with greed.
They take what they want,
they leave nothing for you.
And you cry out and scream,
but what good will it do?
Alone in the dark,
the last light burned out,
you’re left by yourself,
and now you find out,
you should have seen it,
there was never a doubt,
that’s what it’s always about.
That’s what it’s always about.

nice work
I loved how well this piece flowed. I spoke it out loud and it was just pure goodness. The hopelessness is a bit depressing, but I'm sure that is what your going for.
After reading this...everything just feels so...dark.
