Christmas Letter

Dear ___________,

I just can't keep up this facade
Running myself in circles all the time
Can't keep you out of my head
And it's making me lose my mind.

I need a fix from this whole mess
Give me poison, give me pills
Just tell me what I have to do
I'll bend myself to match your will.

Today I saw a raven
And I thought of Salem
His death was all too sudden for me
Like Peace, and Light and the rest of them.

I could have saved him
I could have saved all three
There had to have been a way
But they died becase of me.

I know I've messed up
And I know I'm no good
If there was I way to become better
Trust me, for you I would.

I can't move on,
but I'm not stuck in the past
I'm just imagining the love
That I knew wouldn't last.

All I do is run away
And pretend I'm something I'm not
I just have to face reality
Because eventually I'll be caught.

I need something to beleive in
Beause it sure as Hell ain't God
Maybe I'm just meant to wander
Maybe I'm supposed to be a little odd.

It just doesn't feel like Christmas
Not when I'm feeling like this.
I'm sorry that I have to end it here
Don't worry; I swear its sealed with a kiss.

It's not your fault... don't say that.

But other than that... this was really well done. I mean it. It seems like you're talking about two different things, but that's alright... it really is good.

just a correction, in stanza 5, i think you said "I" instead of "a" with your line "If there was I way to become better" just...make that an "a" ok? ok. ^_^

other than that, this poem was really really good. it's passionate and emotional, and you really seem to be getting out this point that you're ready to change and want to become a better person. of course, knowing you, you're a great person now! no one's perfect, and there's always room for improvement, and this poem tells me that's what you're trying to do as well as kind of a message to your loved ones that you won't let them down.

and, darling, just remember Andre Dubus' short story "The Doctor". things happen in life, and you can never be always prepared for the unexpected. life happens, and you have to go along with it. you'll pull through, i know you will. you always do.

also, is the "dear ________", i mean, is that blank make it open to people as a generality or just as like...a secret person or something? it just quirked my interest, because it's a different way for you to start a poem/letter. but it's good! i like it.

anywho, congrats on the writing. it's fantastic like always. keep up the good work! ^_^
