kira-kira

    *

there’s a land
where the sea
isn’t fluid enough.

the sky,
not spacious enough.

the earth,
not tough enough.

    *

i went christmas shopping
at the best malls.

the decorations, the gifts
arranged in
perfect lines & rows

mocked me.

there wasn’t
one teddy bear or dvd,
not one
photo album or gadget

that could have
really matched.

    *

today i limped
over yellowed pages
in search for

a poem.

i leaned on a crutch
and when the crutch
got rained to the core,

i crept.

    *

i set the alarm clock
to shout my bones
away from the bed
at a crazy hour.

when the time came,
i swore off
my earthly belongings

except a photograph
and a few cheap gifts
worth the world;

i stargazed.
and stargazed.

    *

i ran a marathon
to the clouds
and a yet longer distance
back down.

sketched a map
in my sweat

and took it
to a cartographer.

    *

took me all this
labyrinth

to find
that you are just
too much,
that the ways i love you
are just too vast

to contain.

    *

guess i’ll just
thank you
for glittering.

This is outstanding! I love what you have done with the prompt and I think this is one of your best ... the only thing I didn't like so much was the double use of 'crutch' - but that is just me ... wowowow - this is fantastic - and I can see why it put you in suh a good mood!
