Here's the truth, for what it's worth...
When you're born now , 'tis risky birth,
for there are things you never knew
that spark right out and capture you.
This last great date on planet Earth
is filled with things you never knew
and here's the truth for what it's worth...
they'll walk with you; that's what they do.
Aye, walk along and sing love's song
and then they'll sigh and do you wrong.
AIDS is the name we need to know
for what it does is sorrow...so...
Beware, my friend, as you walk by,
and think of those who soon might die.
Count back and think of happier days
and how you loved in countless ways.
Author notes
Fantasy Dream, sending you my heartfelt sorrow in losing a loved-one from AIDS.

Magnificent.
Good for the gold!
And as one who lived during this pandemic from the beginning...those where the happier days!

Beautiful poem, and true, too.
Life is risky every day.
We should all count back to our happier days and remember the good things.
